The Gospel According To The NPP; Nana Addo Must Be President Or Ghana Will Burn

“No man is good enough to govern another, without that other’s consent.” Abraham Lincoln.

I just wonder whether members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have any bit of conscience or shame left in them. I would rather direct the above political quote by former US president, Abraham Lincoln to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the vast of the locusts that still thrive in that disgusting political party called the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Events since the beginning of the year have proved beyond any shadow of doubt that, the Leopard will never change its spot!

Anything either than a win for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the NPP in this year’s election and there will be war in this country, that is what members of the party seem to be promising Ghanaians.

I need you to kindly stop reading this, go back to the quote above, read it, really digest it, then come back.

Done? Okay, let’s continue.

Nana Addo’s presidential ambition is built and sustained partly on blackmail; the country is being held hostage and being asked to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo, as a price for peace.

The NPP, has an elaborate script being advanced to make Nana Addo synonymous with Ghana’s survival. Unfortunately the message seems to be resonating around the country and many state institutions are being attacked on a daily basis, the biggest culprit being the Electoral Commission (EC).

The blackmail politics kicked in when a political cause lacks merit and logic, when a candidate’s record should earn him a dismissal, not a vote.
The party seems oblivious of the past elections; they lost miserably, because they threatened Ghanaians, with their war songs.

In 2008, Nana Addo, lost because he did not mean well for this country, in 2012, he lost again, because he carries some sense of entitlement that angers many well-meaning Ghanaians.

But blackmail is only one item in the toolbox of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The presidential project of the NPP has been encouraging the act of active forgetting.

We are being encouraged to look past, forget, or to develop alternative understandings of the man Nana Akufo-Addo, we cannot turn and look the other way.

Instead of getting to work to earn the confidence of Ghanaians, Nana Addo, and the NPP, has occupied themselves with expensive business of scaring Ghanaians. It is either we vote for him or this country will be in rubbles.

We were given a dose of what to expect after the 2012 elections, when it was obvious that Nana Addo, lost to a better candidate. The party conjured some figures and a certain delusion of grandeur that, the Electoral Commission stole the election in favour of President John Dramani Mahama.

We heard the noise, the allegations, and the show of arrogance, directed at anyone who disagreed with their position. Even the Supreme Judges, who sat on the case, were not spared.

You cannot rule or govern the people, unless their say so. Nana Addo, cannot be imposed on us. He only gets to govern this country, when we vote for him; the begging and war mongering won’t do him any good.

Many well-meaning Ghanaians, including members of the New Patriotic Party people know that Nana Addo is a poor advertisement for the party; it would be great if he were a stellar and capable candidate.

In Nana Addo, however, the NPP, has a weak and difficult to sell candidate, who is lacking in capacity and the will to solve the problems confronting this nation. Nana Addo, cannot and will not be a good president.

The NPP, has made it clear that getting Nana Addo, elected as President, at all cost is a higher priority, than working for Ghana.

So they are working to cajole Ghanaians into thinking that, anything either a win for the old man means they will not be safe.

A well choreographed and rehearsed press conference was held last year at the Alisa Hotel, addressed by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a man I respect so much, to throw dust into our eyes that over 70, 0000 Togolese Nationals are on our voters register. The evidence provided could not even qualify to be used at a mock trial for students of law. They made a promise of releasing further names from other regions, but till date that is yet to be released.

The Electoral Commission for purpose of transparency and inclusiveness set up a Committee to look into the allegation and take suggestions for their call for a new voter’s register.

The Justice Crabbe Committee, after its work made some recommendations, that the EC, have started implementing.

The NPP, will not give the EC the luxury of time and the presence of mind to formulate and announce programmes that would ensure a free and fair elections.

They have already predicting what will happen, if Nana Addo, does not win the election. What is it about the voters register that, they are not telling us.

Why are they predicting that, the country will burn if the EC, does not give into their demands for a new voter register?

Ghana is bigger than one individual and any political party, this Gospel that is resonating through various actions, will not help advance the
course of the country.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

A member of the party has dragged the EC to the Supreme Court, his relief he is seeking is simple; the Supreme Court, must compel the EC to organize a new voters register.

If this attempt too fails, what next would we expect from them?
