Teachers commended as Ghana joins world to mark Teachers’ Day

The chairman of the National Council of PTA’S, Alex Danso, has commended Teachers for their role in shaping the intellectual and psychological capacities of students.

His commendation comes as Teachers’ Awards Day falls on October 5.

He asked governments and parents to motivate teachers to work harder and not be treated with contempt.

Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, GNAT, David Ofori Acheampong, says though teachers have over the years contributed to development, more needs to be done.

He said challenges such as low salaries, inadequate logistics among others make the profession cumbersome sometimes.

Mr Acheampong emphasized the need for more collaboration and consultation, stressing that education must be insulated from politics.
