Suspended NDC Parliamentary candidate curses party over Mahama ‘hamper’

The suspended Parliamentary Candidate of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party for Ejisu-Juabeng in the November elections, Gloria Huzey has cursed the Ashanti Regional Executives of the party for denying her, her share of an amount of money and Christmas present allegedly donated by President Mahama.

According to Madam Huzy, the executives refused to give her a cash amount of GHC 2,200 and bags of rice and oil, which was due her on a flimsy basis that she was serving a term of suspension.

Obviously angered by the raw deal done her, the suspended parliamentary candidate in a recorded interview stated that she had cursed the regional executives before the Antoa Nyama deity to deal ruthlessly with them for their unfair treatment against her.

“Yaw Obimpeh (Regional Chairman) claims I’ve been suspended and so I’m not entitled to any money and items. I have already cursed them, and I want to go to the river (Antoa) to curse them again. Whoever received part of the items and money which have been denied me, but support that I’m not given my share would be dealt with by the gods.

They want to enjoy while my supporters and family suffer. Don’t my supporters in Ejisu also deserve to benefit from any items brought in the name of the party? These people will not go scot free, their fate will definitely be decided by the gods” she fumed.

It would be recalled that the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) upheld the suspension of Madam Gloria Huzey.

The FEC in a statement signed by Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho said her suspension was as a result of the making of ‘unacceptable comments in relation to the re-appointment of a District Chief Executive.’

Gloria Huzey had accused the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Alhaji Collins Dauda of receiving bribe to influence the nomination of Kweku Afrifa Yamoah Ponko as Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu Juaben.

The said amount, according to the suspended parliamentary candidate for Ejisu Juaben, Gloria Huzey, was a sum of GHȼ400,000.

This did not go down well with the Ashanti Regional executives of the party who have since suspended her.

The suspension, according Koku Anyidoho, has been upheld by the FEC of the party.

The release stated further that the matter has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for expeditious adjudication.
