Suspected terrorist in the Burkina Faso attacks arrested in Ghana

Police in the Sissala West district in the Upper West region have arrested a suspected terrorist, Zuri Ibrahim from Burkina Faso.

The suspect has been held by the police in Gwollu, and is likely to be transferred to Wa for further investigations, Sissala West Police Commander ASP Guy Peter told Radford FM in Tumu.

Ibrahim was first nabbed by local vigilante group at the border town who arrested him after they noticed his suspicious movement and handed him over to the police.

He is believed to be one of the presidential guards of former Burkina Faso leader Blaise Compaoré who has been linked with the deadly attack on the Splendid Hotel in the capital of Ouagadougou.

Twenty nine people were killed in the horrendous crime by the al-Qaeda fighters.
