The Supreme Court has dismissed the suit filed by two implicated High Court judges Justice Paul Dery and Justice Gilbert Ayisi Addo challenging the Chief Justice’s decision to slash their salaries by half and also suspend their allowances except rent.
The court however deferred its reasons for the decision.
The two justices sued the Chief Justice, the Judicial Council, the Judicial Secretary, the Director of Finance of the Judicial Service, the pay master and the Controller and Accountant General.
The court however questioned the inclusion of some defendants to the suit describing it as unnecessary.
It therefore struck out the Director of Finance of the Judicial Service, the Pay Master and the Controller and Accountant General from the suit.
It was the plaintiffs’ prayer that their full salary and allowances be restored.
The two have been interdicted pending the outcome of investigations into the bribery allegation.
They were demanding five reliefs which include a declaration that the decision to put them on half salary is unconstitutional.
