South Africans are celebrating Women’s Day 60 years after the iconic women’s march against the apartheid regime in Pretoria in 1956.
The Minister in the President’s office responsible for Women and Children, Susan Shabangu, said “the day will also be celebrated through showcasing women’s successes and achievements”.
President Jacob Zuma is expected to deliver the keynote address to celebrate women’s role in the fight against racial oppression.
