SHOOTING AT ASHANTI REGIONAL NDC HEADQUARTERS UNFORTUNATE-Young Democrats

It was with great shock, dismay and a heavy heart that we learnt of the unfortunate and sporadic shooting at the NDC Ashanti regional headquarters, that took a life, living at least two more seriously injured.

Young Democrats condemn this backward, barbaric and unfortunate incident with all the contempt it deserves.

We extent our heartfelt condolence to the family of the bereaved and wish the injured speedy recovery.

Having said that, we urge all parties to remain calm and call on the leadership of the party to collaborate effectively with the state security agencies to arrest, investigate and bring the perpetrators of this wickedness to book as early as possible to serve as a deterrent to many who will put the laws in their hands and act in like manner.

This should not see the usual chess game played by politicians to rob off the shine and make another wild goose chase as attempts are made to bring the killers of Wasiru to book. Crime must not and should not have political colours.

We call on government, the Inspector General of Police and his men to use this as a test case to shore up the confidence of the State and its people by doing a good job in the face of many security threats that have bedevilled our country in recent time with the Ayawaso West Wougon shooting as the flagship among all.

May the soul of the gentleman rest in peace as frantic efforts are made to bring the perpetrators of this ungodly act to book.
