Shirley Ayorkor Botchway is Foreign Affairs Minister

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed the Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom Shirley Ayorkor Botchway as Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs.
Nana Akufo-Addo made this known on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Jubilee House when he met a Chinese delegation.

Nana Addo whiles introducing the dignitaries said, “The lady there [Shirley Ayorkor Botwe] is the one I’m wishing Parliament will approve as Foreign Minister.”

Ayorkor Botchway holds an MA (Public Communication) University of Westminster in 2002. She also has an MBA (Project Management) from the University of Ghana in 2004.
Mrs. Botchway is married with two children. Ayorkor Botchway was a former Minister of State at the Water Resources, Works and Housing.

She was deputy Foreign Affairs Minister in former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s administration.
