Shatta Wale Receives GHS100,000, Other Musician GHS40,000 For Virtual Concert

Member of Parliament for South Dayi constituency in the Volta region, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor is insisting thatmusicians who performed at the Virtual Concert and COVID-19 App launch were paid an 100,000 and others GHS40,000 though Shatta Wale has flatly denied that.

He is accusing the Ministry of Communications of deceit  and cover up in the organisation of the Virtual Concert.

The ministry has suffered huge backlash for the decision to hold a Virtual Concert at a time the country is fighting the coronavirus pandemic in a lockdown when food is hard to come by.

However, the sector Minister, Ursula Owusu Ekuful has been defendeding the decision to hold a virtual concert and an addition.

She noted the concert was necessary to bring some joy to people as the country while facing the difficulty of enjoying the Easter in a lockdown.

Mr. Dafeamakpor alleged that other artistes are angry that Shatta was paid more than them

He is calling for a probe into the payment of singers, saying the money could have been used to fight the coronavirus.

Currently, the country has recorded 641 cases with 83 recoveries and 8 deaths
