“I shall fulfill my father’s dream of moving the Capital City from Accra to Inland Eastern Region- Akufo-Addo

A comprehensive look at a leaked email of Presidential candidate of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has added on to the growing body of evidence dappling the spoor of Akufo-Addo’s undying desire to see to the realisation of what has been described in the leaked email of Akufo-Addo as “Akufo-Addo father’s dream” which according to the email conversation, Akufo-Addo “has no choice but to move the capital from the coastal Accra to inland Eastern Region.”

Maxwell Adjei, a pet of Akufo-Addo who according to the leaked email, has been tasked with the responsibility to hunt for Multinational companies with expertise in this project and the oil sector has confirmed provision of the land and its supporting documents given to them by chief of Akufo-Addo’s hometown Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II which has been proposed for the New capital city “Kindly note that, I am yet to receive the documents covering the land given us by the Traditional council (Okyehene) from Mr Acheampong.”

Apparently, Maxwell Adjei has served notice to Akufo-Addo of his success in exploiting beguiling tricks where he stated as “i have given a positive impression to our German Friends of you winning the elections thus the proposal we gave them still stands. However, their worry is when the project will actually start when you eventually win next year.” Maxwell Adjei admitted in his email that he “convinced” those prospective investor friends of the Akufo-Addo “clique” that, an intransigent Akufo-Addo as President “will not back down on public sentiments not to implement” the relocation of the Capital City from “Coastal Accra to Inland Eastern Region.”

Giving an indication of the motive and intent behind this project , Maxwell Adjei stated “In fact, Gerald even emphasized on it that you once told him it was your father’s dream thus you have no choice but to move the capital from the coastal Accra to Inland Eastern Region.” Affirming also a machiavellian tactics to be deployed in pushing this discriminating agenda, Maxwell Adjei a manipulation strategy as he stated in email “They have assured me they have the media professionals and experts who may use both local and international media including BBC and CNN to convince those Ghanaians who may agitate the movement of capital from Greater Accra to Eastern Region.” Citing examples such as Lagos to Abuja, Abidjan to Yamoussoukro, Port Novo to Coutono, Maxwell Adjei “justified” to Akufo-Addo that “there are no reasons why we cannot move the capital from politically divisive Accra, which is also on the coast.”

Akufo-Addo in a forwarded message to Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko stated unequivocally among others “Gabby&Ken, see below from Adjei,  He sounds Positive. Get in touch with him let’s arrange for the cash. We shall implement it once we get into office.” Akufo-Addo in justifying his egregious desire for the relocation of the capital city described the people of Ga as “a very irresponsible lot” adding that “My Ga In-Laws have wasted the privilege of hosting the capital- they holding back progress.” Akufo-Addo further stated that “at least, that will be a legacy we can leave behind for our people. Assuredly, Maxwell had confirmed to Akufo-Addo the readiness of some Multinational companies who are interested in exploiting the oil sector and are “ready to inject funds in your campaign.”
