The DCE was removed from office by the President on December 29, 2015, after serving for a period of three years.

It is unclear what may have triggered his removal, but according to the youth, the DCE has worked hard enough and deserves commendation rather than a dismissal.

The disgruntled youth, a handful of them, have also accused the MP, Christian Otutei, of masterminding the DCE’s removal.

According to them, the MP is at loggerheads with the DCE.

Meanwhile Citi News the Ada Traditional Council has also at a news conference, backed calls for the DCE’s reinstatement.

According to the chiefs, it is an insult for the President to have sacked the DCE without notifying them.

The Spokesperson for the Traditional Council, Asafoatse Tsatsu Pediator IV, said the President during the appointment of official holders, consults the chiefs but when they are being dismissed, the decision is taken unilaterally.

He said the Ada Township has been thrown into a state of mourning since the dismissal of the DCE. They also agreed with the youth’s claim that the DCE has spearheaded several development projects in the area.

Among others, they commended the DCE for seeing to the construction of an 8-unit block bungalow for teachers and the provision of 600 dual desks to schools.

They said they had never found any lapses in the DCE’s work over the years and wondered why the President dismissed him. They have thus appealed to the President to reinstate the DCE.

President Mahama has recently removed and replaced several MMDCEs across the country.
