Sam George, Namoale’s Suspension Quashed

The National Executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has annulled the suspension of Sam George and Nii Amasah Namoale as Parliamentary candidates for Ningo Prampram and La Dadekotopon respectively.

The decision according to the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia is because the Greater Accra Regional Executives acted in contravention of the party’s constitution.

“We have not suspended Sam George and Namoale so any such decision will be wrong” he said on Asempa FM Monday.

The NDC Regional Executives suspended the two candidates following allegations of indiscipline that characterized the party’s primaries held on 21st November, 2015. But Asiedu Nketia challenged the authority of the Regional Executives to suspend the two when the national executives are yet to sit on the matter.

He explained that the party has already set up a conflict resolution committee to look into disputes after the regional executives had petitioned them over the matter. The NDC scribe noted that the subsequent suspension of Sam George and Namoale came as a surprise to them.

General Mosquito as he is popularly called stressed the suspension is now null and void thus both candidates are free to work for victory in their constituencies.
