Newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ningo Prampram Constituency, Sam George, has called on the defeated MP for the area, Enoch Teye Mensah, to forgive him and help him win the parliamentary seat.
He said he is ready to work with ET Mensah despite the fierce campaign that characterized his election.
“I believe we all have one cause we are fighting for which is to win power in 2016 and so I urge my father (ET Mensah) to accept defeat and forgive me so that we can achieve our goal,” he said.
Mr. ET Mensah after the just ended primary in Ningo Prampram constituency accused Sam George of maligning and denigrating him through the media and therefore will only accept an apology if he offers it through the medium he used to destroy him.
Sam George, who had been described by ET Mensah as his ‘errand boy’, secured a shocking comprehensive victory against him in the race.
Official results from the Electoral Commission gave Samuel George, 4,910 votes with ET Mensah polling 2,831 votes.
But Sam George, who believes he has nothing against the outgoing MP, noted that irrespective of the war of words and confusion that plagued the Ningo Prampram Constituency, he is optimistic that NDC will win power in 2016 if the two party men join forces.
“ET Mensah is my boss. I am your son and so take me as one and accept me. If I have tarnished his image in any way, he should forgive me. We want the party to be united so that we can beat the opposition party once again,” he stated on an Accra-based radio station.
