Salaga Police Mount Search For Hit And Run Driver

The Salaga District Police Command has launched a manhunt for the driver who allegedly hit and killed two final year students of the University for Development Studies in Tamale on the Salaga road.

In a telephone interview with Radio Ghana, the District Police Commander, DSP Amenu appealed to the public to volunteer information to assist the police investigation.

He advised motorists to avoid over speeding and abide by all road safety regulations to reduce road accidents.

Two final year students of UDS involved in a motor accident on the Salaga road after they were knocked down an unknown vehicle allegedly hit them and fled on Friday morning.

the deceases identified as Abdul Rafik and Awudu Alhassan were both former executives of the Students Representatives Council of UDS believed to have been returning from Salaga to Tamale on a data collection mission.

He said the bodies have since been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
