Founding President and Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of policy think tank Imani Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has called on President Akufo-Addo to sack Mavis Hawa Koomson over her firing gunshots at a registration centre in Kasoa in the Central Region.
Ms Hawa Koomson, who is the Member of Parliament of the Awutu Senya East, serves as the Minister for Special Development Initiatives, a ministry which implements some of the government’s flagship programmes such as the 1 village 1 dam policy.
For Franklin Cudjoe, she must be sacked or the President will lose his friendship.
Yesterday, Ms Koomson admitted to firing gunshots at a registration centre in Kasoa in the Central Region, explaining that disagreements at the centre made her feel threatened.
The police who were present did not arrest her and the executive, led by the President, has not said anything yet on the matter.
Leading security experts have called for her sacking over the matter, saying it will send a good signal to others that the President does not countenance violent conduct.
