Reduce Electricity bill now-Ofosu Kwakye charges Akuffo Addo

A little over a year ago , then Candidate Akufo Addo called for immediate reduction in electricity tariffs. In a statement published on myjoyonline.com and captured below , he attributed the “high” tariffs to what he described as “the insatiable appetite for taxes” of the previous government.

He compared electricity tariffs between Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire and insisted that the former ought to be like the latter in electricity pricing.

Subsequent to this, he was emphatic in his promise on the campaign trail to reduce electricity tariffs immediately he assumes office as President of Ghana.

Need I remind President Akufo Addo that when you call for an immediate reduction in electricity tariffs and promise to do same when elected , you actually have to do so once you become President. No excuses will suffice in the matter.

I also wish to enquire whether in his estimation the simplistic comparisons he made between electricity tariffs in Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire still hold true.If they do, what accounts for his failure to act in accordance with his own promise?
