Rebecca Asamoah wins Miss Africa 2016

Rebecca Asamoah, second runner up of Miss Ghana 2015 pageant has been crowned Miss Africa Continent in Johannesburg on Saturday.

She has not only made her country proud but also made history as the first woman to be crowned Miss Africa Continent.

he beat 15 other contestants from Angola, Burundi, Lesotho, Nigeria, Rwanda, Namibia, South Africa and other African countries to emerge the the ultimate winner of the pageant which was held at the Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City Casino, Johannesburg South Africa.

Contestants showcased African beauty on stage and also use the platform to advocate for change, highlighting the continent’s challenges such as poverty, high mortality rates, xenophobic mentality and a lack of education.

6But at the end, it is the 24-year-old Dental Surgery Assistant from Ghana who was adjudged winner.

Late last year she put up equal good performance to win second runners-up slot at the 2015 edition of Miss Ghana pageant in November.

That fateful night she also went home with Miss Congeniality, Miss Fitness and Most Disciplined prizes. Hence her winning of Miss Africa Continent confirms her talent.
