Re: Mahama Impregnates Otumfuo’S Daughter ; The Tale of a Blackmail Husband

By Nana Yaa Amponsa, Nyiaso

I read with amusement a news story that appeared on some online portals about my long time friend Ohemaa and her husband, Eric Akwasi Appiah Kannin and I concluded that women need to be wary of who we decide to spend the rest of our life with.

What will be the motivation of a man who decides to marry a woman she barely trust? Greed, opportunism and blackmailing of young successful women is now rampant in Ghana. Men, who dress in the best suits, put on expensive perfume but run negative bank accounts are parading around town, looking for accomplished young ladies, to prey on and when they fail in their track, resort to blackmailing, a classical example of what we see between the Royal Ohemma and Akwasi Kannin.

While I appreciate that there are challenges in every marriage, a man who acts in a deceitful manner is not worth any attention from a woman.

How will Akwasi Appiah explain to his rented Press the $100,000.00 Ohemaa gave her to buy a car for her but after months of waiting for the car, his friends in the states had to call Ohemaa to tell her the bitter truth that her dream husband had spent the money? A woman who stays on after this high grade fraud is worth celebrating than blackmailing.

Akwasi Appiah should have explained to his rented Press that after booking for their honeymoon in London, New York and the Bahamas, it took Ohemaa’s father to bail him out with a $40,000 to cater expenses. He would have helped his pressmen if he told them that, even with $40k, he still had to perch with friends with the royal lady and still, Ohemaa kept hoping that his dream man will change for the better.

Akwasi Kannin should have told his rented press, how he bought recorders everywhere they went and recorded the Royal Ohemaa, with hope that he will get some voice recordings to blackmail the Royal queen but in all of these, his plans were exposed.

We all have history as ladies but what I cannot handle is a man I choose to be with after rejecting many men who proposed to me only for my suitor to build a game of blackmailing to get to my friends and family.

Why would two ladies from the Kumasi Golf Club, call Ohemaa, a night to her wedding, to inform her with witnesses, an engagement ceremony Akwasi had a month ago?? A pathological polygamist, preying on ladies in the Kumasi metropolis, is not worth a royal heart.

Probably, Ghanaians must be told of reasons behind the failed 2014 wedding Ceremony.

Ohemaa knows the brother of the President and so what???? Everyman should be proud that his wife knows people of high places. But to go a step further to tell a big lie that the President has impregnated a lady he has never met before is the highest game of blackmail I’ve ever seen. Not even the
1929 British drama film directed by Alfred Hitchcock and titled “Blackmail” will match the actions of Akwasi Kannin.

I end my commentary by quoting Laurell K. Hamilton quote on wicked Men, “Only love of a good woman will make a man question every choice, every action. Only love makes a warrior hesitate for fear that his lady will find him cruel. Only love makes a man both the best he will ever be, and the weakest. Sometimes all in the same moment. -Wicked”

Blackmailing Ohemaa is tantamount to a blackmail of the royal palace and as a proud Ashanti, Nana Yaa Amponsa will never sit unconcern for Akwasi to embarrass our rich culture.
