Rawlings is on NPP payroll – NDC stalwart

stalwart of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Mohammed Sani, has said he has strong conviction that former President Jerry John Rawlings is being remote controlled by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, Rawlings is a paid agent of the NPP.
Rawlings has doubted the NDC’s chances to stage a comeback in 2020, telling them to forget it, because President Nana Akufo-Addo’s performance will be hard to surmount.

He believes if Nana Addo’s government sustains its performance, it will be difficult for the NDC to return to power in 2020.
“These people think they can unseat this man [Nana Addo] in 2020…NPP? After only four years? No!,” he said when the CEO of EIB Network, Bola Ray (Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi), latter called on him at his residence to officially invite him to the launch of his biography come September 21, 2017.
Alhaji Sani who looks dissatisfied with the comments by the former President in an interview on Kumasi-based Abusua FM said, “the party [NDC] should forget about the existence of Rawlings and chart a new course since he has now turned to be an avowed enemy of the party.”

He said “I think we must stop glorifying Rawlings henceforth because he is a paid agent of the NPP and we must deal with him like a traitor.”

He added that “We have created a monster in Rawlings and he is now tormenting us…Rawlings cannot even claim to be the sole founder of the NDC.

“At the time we founded NDC, Rawlings was still in the military and so couldn’t have founded a political party. There are lots of founders. I am not saying Jerry John Rawlings is not a founding member but he is not the only founder of NDC. We have founders everywhere so he alone cannot claim to be a sole founder,” he noted.
