Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has described his Running mate for the Election 2020 Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as a God-fearing woman, distinguished scholar, a conscientious public servant, and a role model.
The former president today 6th July, 2020 officially picked the professor as his running mate after consultations with top party hierarchy of the NDC and founder former President His Eiii Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings.
In a Facebook post, captured by Ghanapoliticsonline.com, H.E John Dramani Mahama mentioned that the National Democratic Congress today unanimously endorsed his nomination.
Even though the former president did not state any reasons for picking the academician, close sources from his office say that Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang was picked because she is the best choice and will bring a gender balance into the 2020 election.
Again the source also added that, the former president was looking for someone that is competent and will appeal to technocrats.
