Prof. Alabi picks NDC presidential nomination form

Professor Joshua Alabi, a flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC), has picked his nomination form at the party headquarters.
He is part of the eight (8) other aspirants that are protesting against the huge filing fee imposed by the NEC of the party.

A team from the Prof Alabi camp, led by Kenneth Dzirasah, a former deputy Speaker of Parliament, picked the forms.

Among the team that accompanied Kenneth Dzirasah to pick the form were Victor Kojogah Adawudu, Nii Amasah Namoale and Richard Quashigah.

Dzirasah called for a level playing field and explained that it was Prof Alabi’s wish that the party will call to order, some members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) who are openly declaring support for some aspirants.

They presented a cheque for GH¢20,000 for the nomination form.

Earlier, Alabi explained why he has decided to pick the form though he is protesting against the fees.
He said: “I’ve had a lot of calls and the advise to me is to pick up the forms and continue with the fight for the reduction of the GH¢400,000. I believe that I should really tune myself as an aspirant by picking the form and fight to really see to the reduction of the GH¢400,000.”‘

The aggrieved aspirants, led by Alban Bagbin, have described the GH¢400,000 filing fee as reversal on the principles in which the NDC was formed.
