Prez Mahama To Speak On Job Creation

President John Mahama will today, address students of the Cape Coast University on job creation on the second day of his ‘Accounting To The People’ tour of the Central Region.

The address is expected to highlight economic gains made over the years, through job creation in both the formal and informal sectors, while projecting prospective plans for the growing population of youth in the country.

He will also bring to the fore, contributions made by various ministries, departments and agencies which have completed different pipeline projects and implemented new interventions to boost employment.

President Mahama commenced his tour of the Central Region yesterday, with a courtesy call on the chiefs of the oguaa traditional area at the Emintsimadze Palace in Cape Coast.

He also visited the new Kotokuraba Market and inaugurated the Cape Coast Sports Stadium. As part of the government’s efforts in supporting the fishing communities in the country, the President also met with fishmongers, fishermen, canoe owners, workers in the canoe industry and wives of fishermen at Ekon, near Cape Coast.

A statement issued by the Minister of Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and copied to the Ghanaian Times, said through direct government intervention and partnerships with the private sector, numerous jobs had been created.
