Prez Mahama is bringing ‘DSTV’ to your homes – Omane Boamah tells Ghanaians

The Minister of Communications, Dr Omane Boamah, has indicated that the digital migration process is almost complete.
He mentioned that the achievement of a 100 percent digital migration by the NDC government is a great feat.

He was speaking at the Meet the Press series held in Accra on Monday. He explained that to finally achieve this government will distribute one million set up boxes nationwide after the migration is completed.

“Ghana’s quest to migrate from analogue television broadcasting to digital is in its final stage of construction and we are finalising processes to support our universal access obligation efforts by distributing one million set up boxes. This is because every citizen is entitled to the better picture, sound quality and interactivity that digital television broadcasting provides.”

“Simply put, President Mahama’s government is bringing DSTV, apologies to their competitors, to your home, irrespective of your social and economic background,” he added.

The government started the process a few years ago to switch television broadcasting platforms from analogue transmission to digital. Despite the promises give on this transmission, the deadline for the completion of this process has been postponed a number of times.

The Minister of Communication also took the opportunity to elaborate on the achievements of the NDC government and why the electorates must retain President Mahama in the upcoming elections.
