Pressure has been mounted on Ghana’s president Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo to change his running mate hours after former flagbearer of the main opposition His Excellency John Dramani Mahama officially announced his running mate.
Yesterday, July 6, 2020, H..E John Dramani Maham chose the Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman as his running mate for Election 2020 after consultations with the party Executives and the founder of the party Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings.
To many social media users, John Mahama’s choice of a running mate is the best choice not only because the Professor is female but she has achieved excellence based on her track record.
Social media polls since yesterday captured by Ghanapoliticsonline.com has also placed the professor in a resounding lead against the New Patriotic Party’s Dr Mahmoud Bawumia.
A post by Aplus, a controversial political activist has also suggested that the NPP and Akufo-Addo can exchange Dr Bawumia with the Education Minister Hon. Ursula Owusu Ekufful.
Some social media users described Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman as a honest and competent woman considering her track record whiles they place bawumia as a dishonest and incompetent talkative.
With Just few months to the 2020 elections, it is not too clear if NPP will heed to the various advice coming from the public or will still maintain Dr Bawumia who has been labeled as a liar.
