BUTCHERING OF NDC MEN AT REGISTRATION CENTRES
The Eastern Regional Executives of the National Democratic Congress wants to bring to the attention of the security agencies and the general public about the thuggery of the NPP in the ongoing limited registration exercise.
Armed thugs invaded and butchered our men at some polling centres in the region during the registration exercise.
At Nkwatia post office at the Abetifi constituency, one of our polling agents was butchered this afternoon by NPP armed thugs.
The armed thugs were allegedly brought into the constituency by one Bryan Acheampong, the Abetifi constituency candidate for the NPP.
The thugs invaded various registration centres at Abetifi constituency firing gun shots and terrorising our agents and innocent Ghanaians.
The Abetifi constituency secretary of the NPP, Kwame Owuridu Boateng led the thugs to the polling centers in an unregistered white pick-up vehicle.
At Asamang – Tamfoe in the Atiwa East constituency, the police had to intervene to prevent another thugs from attacking our agent there for challenging minors.
We want the police and the national security to stop all unregistered vehicles in the region during this period since the NPP is using such vehicles for thier illegal activities.
We the members of the NDC party are law abiding and will not take the law into our own hands.
We are ready to as usual of us ensure peace in this registration process. But we are also ready to protect our members from further attacks.
We want to urge our polling agents to continue challenging every minor the NPP tries to register in the region as the law demands.
We wish to assure them of the needed protection they need moving forward.
We thank the Nkwatia police for arresting one of the Armed thugs. However, we want the arrested thug to face the full rigours of the law to serve as a deterrent to others.
