President Obama endorses Hillary Clinton for president

President Barack Obama endorsed Hillary Clinton just two days after his former secretary of state became the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee for president.

“Look, I know how hard this job can be, that’s why I know Hillary will be so good at it,” said Obama in a video released on Clinton’s campaign Web site.

The endorsement comes shortly after Obama met with the Clinton’s Democratic challenger, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Sanders signaled after the White House meeting he would stay in the race for the nomination at least through the last primary election in the District of Columbia next week.

Sanders also said he would meet with Clinton in the days ahead and he pledged to work to defeat presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in the general election in November.
