President Mahama promises to whip up interest in cocoa farming

President John Mahama, has ended his four day campaign tour of the Brong Ahafo region with a promise to whip up interest of the youth in cocoa farming with attractive incentives.

Currently, COCOBOD distributes modern cocoa seedlings free of charge to farmers across the country.

The President encouraged farmers whose cocoa trees are more than thirty years to cut them down and grow the new seedlings which takes barely four years to mature.
