President Mahama Promises Intelligent Traffic Lights For Ghanaians

The traffic prone areas in the country will no longer experience such congestions again if President Mahama gets a second term in office.

This is because if President Mahama gets the opportunity to govern Ghana for a second term he has promised to install sophisticated traffic lights in the urban areas.

President Mahama was speaking at an event at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra today (Tuesday) to highlight the key areas of the 2016 manifesto of the NDC.

He said “in order to ease traffic in the major cities, we will introduce intelligent traffic signal systems”

President Mahama explained that the sophisticated traffic lights will be able to detect which side of the road is experiencing heavy vehicular traffic and will quickly give priority to vehicles on that part of the road.

“It’s my intention that by 2021, Ghana will have the best road network in West Africa.”

President Mahama also said his government intends to construct a dual carriage road on the “Accra-Kumasi and Accra-Takoradi and Aflao to Accra roads” in his second term.

He further promised to construct two bridges over the Tema Motorway to give road users an easy access to East Legon and also to stop using the Cattle Tunnel.
