President John Mahama, has inaugurated a 14.6 kilometer Sekondi-Takoradi via Kojokrom rail lines and a two unit multiple diesel train at a ceremony in the Western region.
This is the first phase of the Western railways rehabilitation project.
President Mahama, reiterated governments commitment to rehabilitate all defunct railways across the country for socio-economic development.
He called for good maintenance culture to ensure the coaches have a full life span.
The Paramount Chief of the Sefwi Anwhiaso Traditional Area and President of the Western region House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi, said the region is grateful that its once vibrant rail sector is taking shape.
