President Mahama did not abort his tour of the U/W

A wicked and malicious lie is trending in some circles to the effect that President Mahama canceled his two day tour of the Upper West region to rush to Kumasi to meet the Asantehene over the Kumasi Mayor’s stand off with the Asanteman council.

For the records, the President ended his tour of the region to the admiration of the chiefs an people in the area.

Radio Gold’s Samuel Ablordeppey who was part of the Presidents media team can report that the President did not abort his trip.

The President committed to his tight schedule for the entire two days and even heeded to calls of those who way layed him and spoke to them.

Below is his program outline for his two day working visit:
Inspection of ongoinv works at the 180 bed regional hospital which stood at 75% completion, he then proceeded to the Wa Naa’s palace to pay homage to the Wa Naa and other chiefs, then to the Wa UDS campus where he inspected ongoing projects.
President Maha.a later inaugurated an ultra modern Wa regional library, then traveled 160km on a rough road to Wallenbelle to inaugurate water systems for eleven communities in the region. This was the President’s schedule for day one.

On day two of his visit, President John Dramani Mahama had a breakfast meeting with the religious leaders in the area, then went to cut sod for the construction of a new military barracks, he later departed to the Wa prisons where he again inaugurated a 12 unit classroom block for Wa Prisons badic school complex.
He later journeyed to Nandom to inaugurate the new district assembly office complex before inspecting the Wa Airstrip.
The President after the inspection departed to Kumasi at about 6:30pm on friday to kumasi for the 50th congregation of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Thus treat any other untruth circulating with the contempt it deserved.

The Upper West region was the 8th region the President had visited with his accounting to the people tour, with the Upper East and Northern regions to be visited.
The Chiefs and peolple of the Upper West region gave the President a rousing welcome and assured him of their support in the upcoming Nov 7 general elections.
