President Mahama declares March 7 Public Holiday

President John Dramani Mahama has by Executive Instrument declared Monday, March 7 as public holiday, in view of the fact that March 6, which marks Independence Day, a statutory holiday falls on Sunday.

A statement signed by Mr. Prosper Bani, Minister of Interior, has directed that the day should be observed as such throughout the country.

The president of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta will be the special guest of honour at this years Independence Day anniversary which happens to be the 59th.
