President Mahama Charges Navy To Protect Ghana’s Assets In The Deep Seas

The President and Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, John Mahama has tasked the Ghana Navy to make the protection of the country’s assets in the deep seas a major priority.

According to President Mahama, most of the oil and Gas discoveries made are in the deep waters and at the mercy of pirates, hence the need to protect them.

President Mahama said government has over the years provided the needed resources for the retooling of the Ghana Armed Forces.

According to him, government has also constructed some facilities aimed at addressing the challenge of accommodation within the Ghana Armed Forces.

President Mahama said these when he inaugurated the Headquarters of the Ghana Navy at Burma Camp in Accra.

Radio Ghana’s Pascaline Adadevoh reports that President Mahama fascinated all when he appeared in full military gear to commission the Ghana Navy headquarters complex.

President Mahama who is the Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, received cheers from the gathering as he came out of his vehicle in his new look and inspected a guard of honour mounted by a detachment of the Navy.
