The Police Administration has met representatives of political parties to discuss security issues particularly the provision of security detail for presidential candidates in the run-up to the November polls.
Speaking on Behind the News, the Director of Public Affairs of the Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur said the discussion was fruitful since the political parties were happy with the proposal.
He said they even expressed excitement by going a step further to request for protection for their Chairmen and General Secretaries.
Superintendent Arthur said barring any hitches, starting next month presidential candidates and their running mates will be provided their security details per preference.
