Police Service is well prepared for elections 2016-IGP Kudalor

The Inspector General of Police, Dr. John Kudalor says the Police Service is well prepared for the 2016 general elections.

According to him, the Service begun preparations last year with engagements with key stakeholders in sustaining the Country’s peace. Dr. Kudalor stated that policing elections must not be compared to the usual policing and called for the support of all.

The IGP said this at the commissioning of seven new ministerial candidates for the Evangelical Presbyterian E. P, Church at the Kekeli Congregation in Tema.

It was on the theme: “The Good Samaritan.
The Evangelical Presbyterian Church since its establishment some one hundred years ago has been keen in churning out disciples for the Kingdom of God.

It is in this vein that the Church has again supported the training of seven more ministers to further help in the Church’s mission to bring light to where there is darkness in fulfillment of the Great Commission.

The new ministers were consecrated by the Moderator with support from other Ministers in the Church. The IGP stated that the traditional leaders in the various regions have also been entreated educate their subjects on the essence of championing peace in their jurisdictions.

In a sermon, the Moderator of the general Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Right Reverend Dr. Seth Senyo Agidi condemned the political polarization and its accompanying tension ahead of the November polls.

He said such developments are not healthy for the Country’s peace and stability. Right Reverend Dr. Agidi urged politicians to seek the welfare of the citizenry and not only their personal wellbeing.

He indicated that Christianity is a unique religion since it has the tendency to influence the desired change of individuals and society as a whole and entreated Christians to lead the crusade of eradicating poverty as they respond to the needs of members and the community.

The Mayor of Tema, Isaac Ashai Odametten in a message, commended the Church for their continuous collaboration with the government, saying but for the Church, the nation will not have achieved the needed growth.

Mr. Odametten called on Ghanaians to continue to support the IGP and the Police Service in ensuring continuous peace and stability.

The ceremony was also used to honour the IGP Dr. John Kudalor for his meritorious works in ensuring sanity in the Country.

He was presented with a citation.
