In an attempt to solve security issues for presidential candidates and their running mates before and after the General election, the Ghana Police Service has asked the Presidential Candidates to choose personnel of their choice.

We have been talking to Governance Expert, Professor Baffour Agyeman Dua on the decision and its implication.

He told George Ankrah that there is the need to be careful not to cripple the security system of the country.

He stressed the need to build professional institutions and for them to do their work efficiently based on trust.

Professor Baffour Agyeman Dua also asked the Police to train professional bodyguards who will not be seen to be partisan in order to consolidate the gains of Ghana`s fledgling democracy.
