Police to deal drastically with trouble makers during election

The IGP, John Kudalor says the Police Service is poised to provide security for Ghanaians to exercise their franchise come November 7.

Speaking at a news conference in Accra, Mr. Kudalor said the Police have constituted an Election Task Force to ensure that all polling stations are secured during the general election.

He pointed out that the Police will not shirk its responsibility to create a peaceful environment for all election activities saying anybody who will foment trouble will be severely dealt with. GhanaPoliticsOnline.com

Meanwhile, the Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Authur says the Police Administration has already asked the leadership of vigilante groups in political parties to disband because such groups will not be tolerated.

Speaking to Radio Ghana on measures by the Police to control or manage vigilante groups, Mr. Authur said the Police will ensure that such groups do not exist in the run- up to the November general election.
