Parliament Okays supplementary budget

This year’s supplementary estimates of government has been approved by Parliament.

This means government has been given the green light to spend one point eight billion Ghana Cedis to finance government’s operations during the 2016 financial year.

Rounding up the debate for its approval, the majority leader Alban Bagbin said government had a case in requesting for the additional funds.

He said government had proven over the period that monies allocated them are judiciously used.

The minority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said several promises by government have not materialized and so wondered why government needed more money to spend.
