OTUMFUO COMMENDS PRESIDENT MAHAMA ON DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

The Asante, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, yesterday commended President John Mahama for his various interventions toward developing the county, and urged him to do more for the benefit of the country.

He also assured him of his support, saying as a traditional leader, he would offer his assistance to President to succeed since the benefit would accrue to all Ghanaians.

The Asantehene said this when President Mahama, who is in the Ashanti Region for the Accounting to the People Tour, called at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to pay homage and to seek overlord’s blessings.

He reminded the President of the need to continue fulfilling his promise since the people who benefit from the development projects and interventions were the ones to bear testimony of the performance of his administration.

He also commended the President for his humility and ability to seek wise counsel to address national development challenges.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu also lauded the objective of the Accounting to the People Tour which he believes provides the platform for him to explain issues to the citizenry.

President Mahama, earlier expressed appreciation to the Asantehene for the continuous wise counsel and assistance. Briefing him about the tour, the President noted that it was to offer a clear picture of the progress being made by the country through the various interventions of his administration.

With regard to economy, he noted that due to the successful implementation of the microeconomic stability measures, Ghana’s economy had remained stable in the midst of global economic instability.
