A leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of Brong Ahafo Region, Alhaji Osman Banda has called on President Akufo-Addo to investigate the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Kweku Asomah-Cheremeh for alleged money extortion.
This is not the first time a member from the NPP is accusing the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister of involving himself in corrupt act but it seems the Presidency doesn’t have any interest to investigate him and clear him freely or otherwise.
It would be recalled that in late last year, the Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser, Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye DC also accused him of similar corrupt act of extorting monies from some Timber Operators in the Region and after the two petitions Abronye DC sent to the Presidency for investigations but till now, Ghanaians have not hear anything from the government.
In his statement, Alhaji Banda alleged that Hon. Asomah promised the 2016 NPP parliamentary candidate of Kintampo North Constituency, Mr. Charles Inchanagabe to help him to become the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area and later took money from some Constituency Executives but couldn’t help him to become the MCE.
He emphasized that Mr. Inchanagabe contributed massively and performed creditably towards the party’s victory in the Region.
According to him, “He subsequently contested for the position of the MCE of Kintampo. Prior to that, the current Regional Minister, Hon. Kweku Asomah-Cheremeh promised to help him win the mandate and position as a Municipal Chief Executive of Kintampo North…to our surprise when the Regional Minister Kweku Asomah-Cheremeh demanded GHc. 30,000 from them before he could assist the said parliamentary candidate to be given position to serve the Municipality as the MCE”
In this, Alhaji Osman Banda is therefore calling on President Akufo-Addo together with the leadership of the party immediately invite Hon. Kweku Cheremeh for investigation and probe him.
He added that if Hon. Cheremeh denies of having any knowledge about the allegation, he should be subjected to swear to Allah, the gods of Antoa, the gods of Bomamaa Apaape, Techiman Boakyerwaa and the gods of thunder.

ALHAJI OSMAN BANDA OF KINTAMPO WRITES TO HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFFO ADDO AND THE LEADERSHIP OF THE NPP TO INVESTIGATE KWEKU ASOMAH CHEREMEH
I’m writing this article as a card bearing member of the NPP and a resident of Kintampo to bring to the notice of His Excellency the President and the leading members of the NPP some devastating issues which must be dealt with drastically and exhaustively in the Region
Charles Inchanagabe who was a parliamentary candidate, who can indisputably be said to have contested on the NPP ticket in the recent December 2016 polls in the Kintampo North Constituency.
Even though he could not succeed and win but he contributed massively and performed creditably good towards the party’s victory.
He subsequently contested for the position of the MCE of Kintampo. Prior to that, the Current Regional Minister. Hon. Kweku Asomah-Chremeh promised to help him win the mandate and position as a Municipal Chief Executive of Kintampo North.
Two of the Consistency Executives (Name with held) of the Kintampo North Constituency together with the said parliamentary candidate approached the Regional Minister on the issue.
It was to our surprise when the Regional Minister Kweku Asomah-Cheremeh demanded 30.000.00 GH from them before he could assist the said parliamentary candidate to be given position to serve the Municipality as the MCE.
The two Constituency Executives (Names withheld ) then applied for a loan of the demanded 30.000,00 GH from a corporative union known as AbosomAkotre credit Union subsequently, the loan was granted.
The money was then given to Hon. Asomah-Cheremeh as he had demanded.
Hon. Asomah-Chremeh received this money without any hesitation but has since then ignored the parliamentary candidate and has failed to lure the position for him.
In other words, the Hon. Minister has squandered the money without fulfilling his part of the agreement.
Now, the bank is demanding their money and witch hunting these two Constituency Executives because they have defaulted in payment of the loan as a result of the demand of Hon. Cheremeh.
My plea is that, Mr. President together with the leadership of the NPP should immediately invite Hon. Cheremeh to investigate and probe the matter and if he denies knowledge of this allegation, he should be subjected to swear to Allah, the gods of Antoa, the gods of Bomamaa Apaape, Techiman Boakyerwaa and the gods of thunder.
Mr. President, it is an undisputed fact that, your Regional Minister is presiding over corruption, because, he is corrupt himself and it is amazing and surprising that no one seems to be worried and talking about it.
It is for a fact that, the party in Kintampo is suffering from a deficiency and is dying in the Region gradually.
The leadership of the party must take quick measures as to how to curb this canker before it develops into an incurable cancer.
Finally, Mr. President, Hon. Asomah-Cheremeh is destroying your Region and reputation with his stained corruption and for that matter kindly take immediate steps to deter other appointees who are planning to also engage in similar activities.
