NPPcongress: My story defines NPP – Blay

Acting chairman of the New Patriotic Party Freddie Blay has said his transition from the CPP to an executive member of the NPP is an indication that the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition is receptive to everyone regardless of their backgrounds.

“My story defines the NPP. Coming from the CPP to today become an executive member of the NPP shows that the party welcomes everyone, that is the story of the NPP and Ghanaians know us for that,” the former first deputy speaker of parliament noted in his key note address at the ongoing extraordinary Congress of the party in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region.

He urged members of the elephant family to be resolute and rest assured that the party will capture power in the 2016 general elections.

The opposition New Patriotic Party is currently unveiling its campaign team at the Sunyani coronation park.

Several key personalities of the party including, former President John Kufour, flagbearer of the party Nana Akufo-Addo, his running mate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and minority leader Osei Kyei Mensah have all arrived for the ceremony.

Others include, Okere MP Dan Botwe, business magnate Ken Ofori-Atta, acting general secretary John Boadu and all regional chairmen of the party.
