NPP women’s organiser, youth remanded

Three suspects have been remanded by an Asokwa District Magistrate Court in connection with the murder of Abubakar Saddiq on November 6, 2015.

Youth Organiser, Issah Usman and Women’s Organiser, Hajia Wasila Gariba of the New Patrotic Party (NPP) in the Asawase constituency were remanded with a party supporter Alhassan Issah.

Abubakar Saddiq was part of the angry Akufo-Addo loyalists who locked up the Asawase Constituency office, Thursday, November 5 in protest over comments made by the Chairman of the Constituency, Isaac Brenya.

The incident happened on Friday after the deceased had gone to the constituency office on hearing the office had been ransacked but was attacked and murdered by unknown assailants.
The deceased and several other supporters had earlier threatened to beat up the Constituency chair for supporting suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko.

The constituency Chairman, Isaac Brenya who was also arrested to assist in investigations did not appear in court.
Presiding judge, Korkor Achaw Owusu has adjourned the case to November 24, 2015.
