NPP losing support in Kumasi – S.K. Boafo

Former Ashanti regional minister under the erstwhile Kufuor government S.K Boafo has expressed fears over what he describes as the dwindling support for the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti region.

According to him, the passion with which people in the region welcomed the party in the past has greatly declined.

Addressing supporters of the elephant family in Kumasi, the leading figure of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition said recent developments in the party gives him cause to worry about its fortunes.

“I observed a worrying development in Kumasi when we got there. The reception of the people towards us was worrying. I saw it and I was disturbed.

“So chairman, it’s not you who can make this work but get the guys who can make it and let them get out there and speak; you will see what will happen.

“These days, people don’t care even if they see the NPP flag; there is something wrong and we need to fix it,” he noted.

Meanwhile, the flagbearer of the party Nana Akufo-Addo is still in the region with his ‘Rise and Build’ tour hoping to gunner support ahead of the 2016 elections.
