NPP inaugurates planning committee

fifteen-member planning committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to oversee the smooth organisation of the 2017 National Annual Delegates Conference of the party has been inaugurated.

The 15-member planning committee is chaired by Mr F. F. Anto, a Vice Chairman of the party.

The other members of the committee are Mr Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah, Mr Sammy Awuku, Kamal-deen Abfdulai and Robert Kutin.

Others are Kwamena Duncan, Thomas Agyei Baffuor, Kwesi Ofori Asiamah, Mrs Barbara Ayisi, Alfred Thompson and Adomako Baafi.

The rest are Bright Acheampong, Maame Afia Akoto, Diana Karikari, Hajoa Sowudatu Saeed and the National Chairman’s representative.

The committee is expected to organise the 2017 National Annual Delegates Conference of the party without any hitch.

The National Delegates Conference, which is a supreme governing body of the NPP which concerns itself with matters affecting the party across the country, has been scheduled from August 25 to 27 in Cape Coast.

The event, which is a constitutional requirement of the party’s constitution, will afford the party the opportunity to review its activities and put in place appropriate systems and measures for its smooth operation.

It will also take decisions regarding some proposed constitutional amendments and replace all of its national executives who have been appointed to serve in government.

The acting General Secretary of the NPP, Mr John Boadu, who inaugurated the committee last Friday, expressed optimism that this year’s National Delegates Conference of the party would come off incident-free.

“In view of this, the party has carefully selected the planning committee members based on their rich experience and proven track record in party organisation,’’ Mr Boadu indicated.

He further said the 15-member committee had proven record in party organisation particularly in the organisation of programmes and events at the national level.

Mr Boadu called on all stakeholders and party executives to give the committee the necessary support in the upcoming National Delegates Conference.

“We hope that all stakeholders, especially party executives and faithful, would give the committee the necessary support and cooperation in order to discharge its mandate effectively for the love of the party,” he said.
