NPP confused about Change message – Solomon NKansah

Solomon Nkansah Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)

Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah has criticized the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) of moving in circus with their Change mantra, insisting that the Dankwa-Busia-Dombo tradition is confused about what message to present to Ghanaians ahead of the December polls.

“They don’t have a clear message to give to Ghanaians- And they don’t have a candidate as well to the best of my knowledge. It is laughable that within some few months they have introduced about three themes tailored in their campaign for this election. So which one should Ghanaians buy into? They started with their ‘Arise For Change’, and moved to ‘Donate for Change’ and now they are going round preaching ‘Restoration of Hope’, this shows clearly they don’t have a message, Nkansah argued on Si Me So on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

Nkansah said the Constitutional Amendment Bill, 2016 that was rejected by the minority is testament to the claims that they are not sure of their fate in the elections, hence they keep dragging their feet to the major elections.

He insisted the NPP does not respect the views of Ghanaians and as such has a tainted motive, which explains for the reason why they voted to shoot down a landmark bill on the country’s elections set earlier for November, 2016.

But Ken Adjei Korankye affiliated to the largest opposition NPP said the claims are baseless and must be trashed by Ghanaians.

“NPP we’re ready for elections, today or tomorrow, but our position was all in the interest of Ghanaians,”

On Thursday, the proposed change of the election date from December 7 to the first Monday of November in an election year was shot down by parliament when the Constitutional Amendment Bill was rejected although the EC had indicated its preparedness to organise the polls in November.

The ruling NDC has since blamed the minority of rejecting the Bill for political expediency
