A member of the opposition New Patriotic Party’s Akropong and Eastern regional communication team, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as IGP, has been attacked and shot by a gang of robber at his residence in Accra.
The robbery happened at dawn (2am) on Monday June 27. Mr Owusu Afriyie sustained bullet wounds in the attack and has been taken to the Intensive Care Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital for treatment.
He was with his wife and new born baby when the attack happened. His friend, Godfather, confirmed the incident to Prince Minkah on Class91.3FM’s Executive Breakfast Show on Monday and urged the police to ensure that the assailants are brought to book.
He said the victim was shot by the robbers as he tried preventing them from gaining access to his room. Mr Owusu Afriyie sustained injuries on his arm. His wife and baby, according to Godfather, escaped unhurt.
