NPP can never unite until Akufo-Addo changes – Mosquito

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, says the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) can never unite as a party until its Presidential Candidate for the 2016 general elections changes his leadership style.

He wants Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo to always rise to the challenge of condemning irresponsible statements and bad conduct on the part of party members, especially, the kingpins in the elephant family, just like President John Mahama and the Founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings have been doing.GhanaPoliticsOnline.Com

“With happenings in the NPP, it behooves on Akufo-Addo to rise up and condemn it just like Jerry John Rawlings and President Mahama have been doing in the NDC”.

“That is good leadership”, he noted on Kasapa FM, Wednesday.

In the view of Mr. Nketiah, aka, General Mosquito, the NPP will forever remain at its present state if Akufo-Addo continues to glorify violence in the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition.

He told Banson that there are two factions in the NPP and until both see themselves as one; it will be very difficult to bring them together.

“The NPP is divided because not all the party members believe in violence. Those who believe in violence and impunity in winning the elections are in the camp of Nana Addo. The other group believes that in a civilized world, democracy should be based on issues but this group is not in the good books of the flagbearer”.

“So, now those who believe in violence are attacking those who believe in democracy. A clear case is the recent attack on Baah Acheamfour in the studios of Kumasi based Fox FM, MP for Manhyia North, Collins Amankwaa and constituency party secretary, Felix Ibrahim. All these personalities are perceived to be against Nana Addo”.

“It is like trying to mix water and oil – no matter how well you will shake the bottle, it will never mix. So, until a time that they will all realize that in this modern day and age, it is only the constitution and issues that are used in doing politics, they will never be able to unite their party”.
