NPP built economy with ¢20b; NDC collapsed it with ¢200b – Bawumia

The running mate of the New Patriotic Party says the Kufuor government built an economy with 20 billion cedis in eight years but the Mahama led government, with 200 billion has collapsed the economy.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who was speaking at a programme organised by the aspiring Member of Parliament of Awutu Senya West George Andah said the NPP instituted the NHIS policy, National Youth Employment Policy, school feeding, free maternal health paid teacher, nursing training allowances etc. out of the 20 billion cedis it accumulated.

However, with 200 billion cedis accumulated by the Mahama led administration in the last seven years, the NHIS and all other policies introduced by the NPP have either collapsed or are on the verge of collapsing.

“This government is an incompetent government,” he stated, berating what he described as the killer taxes imposed by the government.

He promised that when elected into power in 2016, the NPP government led by Nana Akufo-Addo will reduce the killer taxes and “will also show them how to manage an economy by building a business and people friendly economy in the whole of Africa.”

He told the teeming partisan crowd at the Bawjuasi electoral area that a Nana Akufo-Addo government will also restore the teacher and nursing trainee allowances that have been scrapped by the NDC government.

He charged the supporters to be vigilant in the 2016 elections, saying the Battle is the Lord’s, but the Lord will only work with hardworking polling station executives.

Dr Bawumia was accompanied to the launch by a founding member of the party, CK Tedam and other leading members of the party.

The aspiring MP for Awutu Senya West George Andah admonished the electorates to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 election and do same for him as MP.

The marketing guru has the Foreign Minister Hanna Tetteh to contend with in the constituency but he assured the electorates that he was better placed to meet their needs.

He chronicled the many policies introduced by the Kufuor regime, insisting, that was a government with vision, and a Nana Akufo-Addo government will continue along that tangent.

With the area endowed with a number of young footballers, he assured them he will be bringing a number of scouts to watch them and provide them with live changing careers in football.

There was a football match organised by Mr Andah to crown the beginning of the election.
