NPP berates EC, vows to expose its ‘shameful’ bias

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has vowed to expose the Electoral Commission as a biased institution set against Ghana’s largest opposition party.

NPP Communications Director, Nana Akomea who made the claim said not only are the reasons offered by the EC in rejecting the party’s call for a new voters’ register for the 2016 elections bogus, the decision also exposes the EC as one so biased that it cannot even hide its bias.

“They can’t even hide their bias”, he said, adding “It’s very shameful”.

Akomea who spoke to Asempa FM on Monday, said the party will expose the EC in two or three days over the manner the electoral body handled the NPP’s request for a new register.

The EC has rejected the call after a public forum to elicit ideas from the political parties and other interested bodies and individuals.
