NPP Activist Who Prayed For President Mahama’s Death Passes Away Few Days Later

An NPP activist who just last Thursday, September 29,2016 prayed for the death of President John Mahama has passed away.

David Irwin Osei, a former President of the KNUST branch of TESCON, the tertiary students wing of the NPP, on the above date at 9:17 am wrote the following death wish for the President of the Republic of Ghana on his Facebook wall;

“Believers, join me as I pray for Mahama
Psalm 109:8 O Lord Almighty,

8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
Amen !!”
The sentence “Let His days be few…” obviously is a wish by David and a call on God to cause the President to die. However, David’s wish did not come true. Rather, eight days after his unholy prayer, he died of throat cancer.

David, until his illness, was the Acting Ashanti Regional Organiser of the NPP, replacing Kennedy Kamkam who had earlier defeated him at the polls to occupy that position. A few days afterwards he took over from Kamkam, however, David fell ill and was diagnosed for throat cancer.
Ironically, David Irwin Osei had on several occasions on Angel FM and Kessben FM alleged in no uncertain terms that the then President John Evans Atta Mills had throat cancer. He had then gone on to assert that oral sex is the cause of throat cancer. What he was suggesting was obvious. Many were appalled by his comment but he was urged on by his party folks. He thus repeated his allegations several times on radio programmes in Kumasi.

On September 16, 2011, in furtherance of his aim to denigrate President Mills, he shared an article on Asempa FM’s facebook timeline on throat cancer. The article was headed “”ORAL SEX IS BIGGER CAUSE OF THROAT CANCER THAN TOBACCO”. Five Years after his false allegations against President Mills that he had throat cancer due to oral sex, David has lost his life due to throat cancer!

While in North Carolina in the United States of America treating his ailment, David Osei struggled financially to meet the cause of his medications. After exhausting all that he had, he was compelled to turn to friends in the NDC for financial assistance.
On many occasions, the pain and anguish of the young man was obvious from many of his previous facebook postings. On July 17 this year, he wrote the following on his wall;
“Psalm 25:16-19

16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.”
On July 15, 2016, he wrote;
“Psalm 3:2-4
2 Many are saying of me,
“God will not deliver him.”
3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
4 I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.”
A day earlier, that is July 14, he wrote these words;
“Jeremiah 17:14
14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise”.
In the meantime, from his sick bed, David who had become very frail and almost unrecognizable was still actively politicking, posting comments on NDC and NPP politics on his facebook wall. He even sent a text message this week to Peace FM during one of their programmes. But, what he may be infamously remembered for is his prayer to God to cause the death of President John Mahama, a prayer that went unanswered. Interestingly, many of his NPP friends on facebook liked the prayer and said “Amen” to it.
Yesterday afternoon, David Irwin Osei, rather than the President, passed away. He once worked with Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie and Associates chambers, the law firmed owned by the Former General Secretary of the NPP, Sir John and his partners. He enrolled at the Ghana Law School to become a fully-fledged lawyer but sickness, and now death, has derailed his dreams
