NPP 2016 Manifesto leaked; Freddy Blay and Akomea fingered

With rarely four months to the 2016 General elections , troubles at the headquarters of the opposition New Patriotic Party is seen to have developed into a menstrual cycle as the most recent skirmish is said to be blowing the lid off, the party’s most coveted 2016 manifesto dubbed the “Blue Book” to its rival party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC). News sources had earlier reported that, the NPP’S “Blue book” aimed at exposing the disingenuity and artistic creations in the NDC’s much touted “Green Book” .

This “Blue Book” was prepared by a committee headed by the party’s 2016 vice Presidential candidate Dr Mahamadu Bawumia with members as Minority Leader Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, Kwadaaso MP Dr Owusu Afriyie, Nana Akomea among others.

According to a Deep throat source(GhanaPoliticsOnline.Com) closer to the headquarters of New Patriotic Party, acting Chairman Freddy Blay and the party’s Director of communications Nana Akomea have been convicted as prime suspects in this act of betrayal , by an investigative committee set up by the party’s 2016 flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo, last month.

The investigative committee is said to have comprised of the following Person’s as its members: Dr Addo Kufour, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, Felix Owusu Agyapong to mention few.

One member of the investigative committee who pleaded for anonymity contended that ” Dr Bawumia’s committee was set to produce an antidote to the much talked about NDC’s Green Book.

The idea was to establish the veracity or otherwise on images and content of the green book which the NDC has labeled as completed projects or Work In Progress. Knowing the NDC and its adept in hoodwinking Ghanaians , we were not oblivious of our conviction that, those images in the green book were fictitious product from the incompetent NDC administration.

This, we set up a committee to establish the falsehood that we believed, abounds in the NDC’s Green Book. This action was taken and the output was a “Blue Book” from the committee of Dr Bawumia . Accordingly, the “Blue Book” produced, was handed over to the party’s acting Chairman Freddy Blay by Secretary to the committee who is the Communications Director of the party Nana Akomea for approval and adoption at a National Council meeting.”

“The party through its intelligence got wind of snippets of information suggesting, the “Blue Book” produced with strenuous efforts has been blurted out to our arch-rivals- NDC. In that light, our committee was constituted to look into the matter and with due diligence and extensive inquisition, we found collusion between acting Chairman Freddy Blay and Communications Director of the party Nana Akomea” the investigative committee member added

The NPP and its flagbearer has in recent times stated that , they were not going to unveil their manifesto until such a time, after the NDC has launch its. This unusual position taken by the NPP is said to have stemmed from what the NPP believes as copying and reproduction of their original ideas by the NDC. The flagbearer of the NPP Nana Akufo-Addo has on numerous occasions accused the NDC of making a facsimile of, forgery and improper implementation of his ideas such as the Free SHS, Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) etc. Certain quarters in the NPP has blamed this unholy act squarely on internal actors and some party executives.

It will be recalled that, recently, the party’s National Women Organiser Otiko Afisa Djaba who was a panel for discussion on a political show on UTV with NDC’s vice Chairperson Anita Desousa revealed shockingly that , the NDC’s “TRANSFORMING GHANA; CHANGING LIVES” mantra was stolen from the NPP . Showing a copy of the NPP’s 2012 manifesto which was leaked to buttress her point, Madam Otiko Djabah read the portion of campaign slogan of the NPP in 2012 which is slightly a transposition of what the NDC currently has – ” TRANSFORMING LIVES; CHANGING GHANA”. This she said was leaked by certain party officials at the headquarters in 2012 as she named suspects for such unfaithful incident such as Kennedy Agyapong, Nana Akomea, Sammi Awuku, Gabby Okyere Darko and John Boadu.

Meanwhile , the 2016 flagbearer of the party, Nana Akufo-Addo has stated at the party’s Special Delegates Conference in Sunyani last year that, ” I am happy to announce to my fellow party members that, I have been successful in flushing out all moles from the party”. Even before this Sunyani Conference, Freddy Blay’s owned Daily Guide had quoted Nana Akufo-Addo on their banner headline as ” I WILL FLUSH ALL MOLES FROM THE NPP”. It is obvious Nana Akufo-Addo was referring to liberal minded persons within the party who are victims of illegal sacking from the party viz: National Chairman Paul Afoko, General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong, Second Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe and the over 400 party executives, before the Sunyani conference. What rather scares some sections of the party is , since Akufo-Addo succeeded in sacking all moles from the party as at last year, who are these wolfs diguised in sheep’s skin leaking party informations to the NDC? What has become a puzzle to some other members of the party is, if Chairman Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong were not at the helm of affairs in 2012 when the party’s manifesto slipped into the hands of the NDC as admitted by Women’s Organiser as at that time Madam Otiko Djabah, how does Akufo-Addo reconcile all these infractions and sacks these Independent-Minded persons as moles? Hitherto to the commencement of this 2016 calendar, Chairman Paul Afoko or Kwabena Agyepong were not at the helm of affairs in the party, so who are those who leaked the “Blue Book” of the NPP party to the NDC?

Let it be noted that, Freddy Blay’s owned Daily Guide Newspaper has been adjudged the primary source for Bad news related to the NPP in the last three (3) years. and other media portals has established that, over 90% of bad news on such portals are sourced to or referenced from Freddy Blay’s owned Daily Guide Newspaper.

Reminiscing the meeting that took a decision on whether the party go for an early Presidential Primaries or not in 2014; the voting pattern by members which was by a “secret ballot” was published black and white in Freddy Blay’s owned Daily Guide Newspaper . Who aside Freddy Blay could have betrayed the secrecy of the ballot in a closed meeting with such level of irresponsibility ?

Dr Michael Botwey, who is a maverick political analyst has stated with incredulity on several occasions with respect to the events that unfolded after Kwabena Agyepong’s famous “I told them i was going to eat Fufu” saga. Dr Botwey has questioned that, in the absence of the party’s chairman and General Secretary as at that material moment, who communicated with NDC’s Radio Gold 90.5 fm to air such a live executive meeting which was haphazardly convened by Freddy Blay ? And the party’s Disciplinary committee saw nothing wrong with such incongruous act of betrayal?
